Long birthday post incoming...
From Twen🫖 7 in 🇵🇹 to 28 in 🇮🇹— this year has held the highest of highs and the lowest of lows.

I’ve decided that my word for the year is GRATITUDE.

It’s still hard to believe all this happened in just one year. Literally a year ago, I was living one of the happiest moments of my life — celebrating in the Azores, surrounded by nature, traveling to places I had always dreamed of visiting. I experienced my first-ever Olympic Games, which reignited my passion to train hard for what would become my first IPSF World Championships. The results? Incredible — including a 🥇.

But just when everything felt perfectly aligned — when I felt unstoppable — life threw me a curveball. I had an accident, broke my ankle, and fell into a deep well of sadness and uncertainty. I faced my first surgery and all the mental and emotional challenges that come with a serious injury. I felt fragile, lost, like everything I’d worked so hard for was slipping through my fingers.

But when you hit rock bottom, the only way forward is up.
That’s when gratitude became everything.

I started thanking life for what I still had. I couldn’t stand on my feet, but I could still stand on my hands. I could still do so much more than I imagined. I felt immense gratitude for my body, for my mind — both my PT and my circus brain. For my family and close friends who never left my side. For my coworkers and the incredible company I work with, who kept me engaged with projects even while I was away from the ships.

That gratitude, and all the hard work, paid off. I made it back to performing in circus. I met amazing people. I started learning a new language. I completed almost two new diplomas (one still in progress!). I dove into design and web development. I reconnected with people in my life, and in what felt like the blink of an eye, I found myself here — in **Palermo**, on board a brand-new ship, ready to sail into new adventures and create new memories with both old and new friends. I’ve never been 100% sure where life is leading me — but now, I don’t feel the need to know. I just want to enjoy the ride while I still can. So here’s to 28 years. To life. To all the lessons this wild year has taught me. **Cheers 🥂**
