I couldn’t be happier! My first time landing mahi, and the very first one was an absolute TANK! I’m beyond grateful for these two fish and for such an unforgettable experience. This is definitely a moment I’ll never forget! Huge shoutout to @shortyvest for helping me pull this fish away from the sharks, @chadintotheblue for taking us out and putting us on these fish, and @claireisaia for being the boatman and helping make it all happen. Couldn’t have done it without you guys! So grateful for this experience and everyone who made it possible. @riffe_international @tula.blue
🇺🇸 William Marshall “Bill” Beckmann died on, April 29 1990, at St. John’s Hospice in Lakewood, Colorado, following an extended illness with AIDS. He was 29 years old. Bill was born in Denver on 14 July 1960. He graduated from Platte Canyon High School in 1978, where he was active in school and community activities, particularly local melodrama theatre. An artist, Bill designed the original “Bailey Day” logo located at the Entriken Cabin in Bailey, and painted the Husky logo in the old Platte Canyon High School gymnasium. Bill attended the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley and graduated from the University of Denver in 1982. Before his illness, he worked in Human Resources at the Life Insurance Company of Denver. Doug Lasky told @theaidsmemorial, “I met Bill when we both sang with the Denver Gay Men’s Chorus. We lived two blocks away from each other. He was incredibly kind and handsome. He was always looking for love (as we all were at that age). His specialty was cooking Chicken Veronique in his tiny apartment for a first date. One night his date didn’t show up so he called me and I got to experience the special meal (without the romantic dessert). I remember him in hospice. All that youthful joy and beauty wasting away. I spoke at his memorial service. I’m now 70 years old and I think of him often and how he touched my life.” #whatisrememberedlives
