WHEN THEY SEE ME.
They will see my people, they will see a Namibian woman, they will see an immigrant, they will see a woman rooted in her culture and embrace that by celebrating the Canadian Multiculturalism. They will see a child of a dreamer, a child of a survivor, a child of a woman who closed her chapter so she can be able to open a fresh one in Canada for her children.
My national costume for @missuniversecanada is not only my traditional dress, but it is the representation of what the Herero people fought for! They fought for freedom to make sure that one day their children could also be able to stand at the stage that I am standing at today.
My costume is an example of what we mean by “there is always light at the end of the tunnel” I am a that light. I have made it this far and I know for sure that those behind me will be able to see clearly with no doubt.
I am KAMUAHAO HEI the first Namibian Canadian to walk the stage of the @missuniversecanada and I will definitely not be the last!
