🍂 Edith Sharpe 🖋️ It's Crimson Peak season (my favourite season) and it's nearly time for the annual rewatch I first drew this as a study back in 2018 (>>swipe to see the original version) and had a very relaxing time doing this little paint-over update 😌 (>>>swipe to the VERY end to see the reference photo) This movie is one of my favourite films, in fact it's tied for the first spot on my list (though we must remember, LotR doesn't count as it wins every contest). It's spooky, it's mystery, it's Tom Hiddleston in a waistcoat, everyone is in the most stunning costumes and there's a murderous, ghostly plot about. What more could you ask for? Character from Crimson Peak (2015) by Guillermo Del Toro @gdtreal 🤖🚫 No AI was used in the creation of this artwork *I do not condone the use of my artwork in AI generators including training and/or sampling. . . . . . #NoAi #fanart #CrimsonPeak #EdithSharpe #GothicRomance

*Westmoorings man robbed of $50,000 outside bank* A 49-year-old man was robbed of $50,000 after being struck on the back of his head by two men as he walked to his vehicle after leaving a bank in Diego Martin on Monday. The incident occurred at about 3 p.m. on October 12, after the man exited First Citizens Bank at the Diego Martin Borough Corporation compound. The man told police he was carrying the cash in his hands and walking towards his vehicle, which was parked on the northern side of the compound’s car park, when he was approached by the two men. The men reportedly struggled with him, struck him on the back of his head and took the money before escaping in a white Nissan AD wagon. The vehicle was last seen travelling north. The suspects’ descriptions were not provided.
This might ruffle a few feathers… I don’t believe women should automatically be prescribed HRT simply because they’ve entered perimenopause. And before anyone jumps in with “but HRT changed my life” - wonderful. I’m genuinely glad it did. This isn’t about taking that away from you. But I know you could be feeling better. Because I see it on the daily. It’s about asking some questions that I don’t think we’re asking loudly enough. Where is the long-term research following women who START hormone replacement while they’re still menstruating and continue for the next 10, 15 or 20 years? There isn’t any. And what happens when we treat a natural hormonal transition as something that automatically needs replacing? And why aren’t we spending just as much time teaching women how to support their nervous systems, metabolic health, sleep, stress response and changing hormonal needs? Yes, HRT may be a tool in your toolkit. But it may only take you so far. Women deserve solutions from debilitating symptoms. But perimenopause isn’t a hormone deficiency diagnosis simply because you’ve turned 40. Your hormones are changing. Your body is adapting. And there is so much we can do to support that process. I see women every week who have been made to feel terrified of what’s coming. That their bodies are failing them. That they’re destined for weight gain, poor sleep, anxiety and a long list of symptoms unless they intervene. I don’t believe fear should be driving these decisions. I believe in informed choices, individualised care and giving women the tools to understand their bodies before assuming there’s only one solution. And if you’ve chosen HRT? This isn’t an attack on your decision. It’s a challenge to the idea that every woman needs to make the same one. **It’s really not as hard as they’re having you think it is.** Follow along if you want a different conversation about perimenopause.
