First Day vs Last Day. I didn't even realise I had a photo from my first day and it's the type of coincidence and serendipity we've all gotten used to on this show. To start and end on this boat. A show that has been such a massive part of my life. 8 years, filled with good times, laughs, tears, and family. 8 years of long nights, hot days, sunburn, wounds, games, hugs and smiles. 8 years with brothers. Sisters. Family. The memories we created on this show will ache with nostalgia in my heart forever and ever. 8 of the best years of my life. In this time I've become a husband, a father, a home owner, a board game collector, I've even witnessed Liverpool win their first English Title of the Premier League era. All of this was sustained with the nourishment of being a part of The Chosen family. This show has changed the lives of so many all around the world, but I want people to know how much it changed mine. I was sleeping on my mate's couch in Culver City the day I got the call to audition for a fisherman named Simon. I was dropping my bag off onto the same couch a few hours later when an urgent email came through with 8 pages to learn for a character named Quintus, to be prepared for the next day. And then, for some reason, I was gifted the role of John. Where my interpretation of Simon and Quintus intersected with The Beloved Disciple? I'll never know, but you can ask @amandaleejenkins the prayers she meditated on to make that decision. And I'm endlessly grateful to both @dallas.jenkins and Amanda for giving me the opportunity of a lifetime, even if I didn't know it at the time. And there is a lesson in that. Not knowing what will change your life, to always embrace everything with love and open arms, and surrender to the rest. John is a character I deeply love and care for. An figure from history of whom I've learned so much from, with whom I share so much shared experiences, both past and present. The simplest way I can summarise these past 8 years, I might borrow my favourite quote from this show... Before I was one way, and now I'm another. And the thing that happened in between, was @thechosentvseries John, out ⚡
