I’m an East Sider! 43 rd place between Avalon & McKinley went to Carver Jr. High . Cousin Ernie Esters sang Jazz in the clubs and owned Bungalows and property across from San Pedro Park where We had our meetings and sports Sugar Ray Foundation . I skipped Jefferson & went to Los Angeles High instead .

Funny thing is, I’ve lived in South Central Los Angeles for the past eight years after moving from Harlem. But I still have my place back in Harlem at the historic landmark The Dunbar Apartments. It’s been 23 years now, and I still haven’t let it go.
