Had the pleasure of serving as Project Manager and Set Designer on-site for the pop-up experience celebrating MUSE, the 11th studio album from @johnlegend. There’s something special about taking a creative vision from concept to execution, transforming a space into an experience that complements the artistry, tells a story, and gives people an opportunity to connect with the music beyond simply listening to it. Even better when you get to witness the artist experience it firsthand. Grateful to @najeejalice for the opportunity to lead this moment on behalf of @reign48events. 👑 Shoutout to @local.dirtbag and @macmittenz412 from the @merchtable team and everyone at @americandream who helped out. One month since I quit Taekwon-Do. I thought I’d be itching to train by now. Honestly, I’m still tired. I stepped away because the environment had stopped feeling safe for me, mentally and physically. I was burnt out, and I needed space to work out what my relationship with Taekwon-Do and the Taekwon-Do community could look like again. I’ve slept a lot. The stress and ostracism is still there, and I haven’t found the energy or desire to return to my own training yet. After nearly 30 years, that feels strange. But alongside that, I’ve enjoyed having spare time again. Reading, being creative, exploring ideas and spending time with people without always being the person organising everything. And I’ve realised how much my WMA community has my back. When you’re used to being the coach and supporting everyone else, receiving that support yourself means a great deal. I’m still struggling with some of it. I’m also enjoying parts of life I hadn’t made enough room for. There’s no return date to announce. For now, I’m grateful for that room—and for the people helping me feel more like myself.
