At its core lies the conviction that the evolution of painting should not culminate in reduction or decorative simplification, but rather in an intensified density of form, color, and pictorial structure. Formally, Profoundism operates at a productive threshold between compositional order and potential fragmentation. Its characteristic feature is a high density of visual information, in which figurative elements, spatial depth, and abstraction merge into a complex pictorial unity. The work derives its effect less from narrative or immediate beauty than from the internal tension generated by composition itself. Although traces of Expressionism, Cubism, and Impressionism may be perceptible, Profoundism should not be understood as a synthesis of historical styles, but as an independent expansion of painterly possibilities. Familiar artistic languages are absorbed into an open process until a new visual order emerges — one that transcends its individual references. From an art historical perspective, Profoundism resonates particularly with Paul Cézanne’s search for structural wholeness in painting. It may be understood as an attempt to recover a sense of compositional unity lost in the fragmentation of modernism, without abandoning the achievements of abstraction. For collectors, the remarkable coherence of Pruner’s oeuvre — developed over more than five decades and preserved largely intact due to the artist’s reclusive working practice — represents a rare opportunity for reassessment within the context of postwar European painting. #wepruneru #felix.pruner #profundism 🎨 Instagram: www.instagram.com/felix.pruner/ 🌐 www.pruner.info/en 🎬 YouTube: www.youtube.com/@PrunerArtOfficial ©PRUNER ART
