Context : Reports say a Flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv narrowly avoided disaster on September 30 after an Omani co-pilot allegedly attacked the Indian-origin captain during the flight. The aircraft suddenly descended and transmitted emergency and unlawful-interference codes, prompting Israel to scramble fighter jets. The injured captain and other crew members fought to regain control, while off-duty pilots reportedly travelling as passengers also helped stabilize the situation. Korn's Brian "Head" Welch and Fieldy shared a stage last night for the first time in over five years. The two joined Lacey Sturm on stage, with former Papa Roach drummer Dave Buckner on drums, at the sold-out grand opening of The Whosoevers' new headquarters in Boise, Idaho on Saturday, September 26. The all-ages "Boise Invasion" also featured a special performance from P.O.D., plus a free outdoor block party with autograph signings, raffles for signed guitars and food trucks. The reunion comes after the pair have been spending time together again. The night before, Head and Fieldy caught Sevendust's show and hung out with guitarist Clint Lowery, who wrote on Instagram that he got to "reconnect with Fieldy who I haven't seen in awhile. We laughed, we prayed and I felt peace among them sharing our stories." Back in April, Head surprised Fieldy and his son with guitars, and Fieldy thanked him publicly for the "very unexpected gift." As founding members of Korn, Head and Fieldy built the band's sound together on classics like "Follow the Leader" and "Issues," which helped launch nu-metal. The Whosoevers is the faith-based movement co-founded by Head, P.O.D.'s Sonny Sandoval and Ryan Ries. Since 2009, it has brought a message of hope about addiction, depression and identity to schools, skateparks and stages. Fieldy stepped away from Korn in 2021, and Ra Díaz has filled in on bass ever since. His last performance with Head was Korn's "Monumental" livestream in April 2021. 📸 Daniel Gollaz
