There’s a whole chunk of process that I did not record on this painting. I struggled a lot! I actually almost gave up, which is something I don’t usually do. But I’m really really glad I pushed through. I absolutely am totally in love with this cactus painting.

I haven’t done really any Desert art. I live in the desert and honestly I just love the forest probably because it’s nowhere near me! And the Desert art that is very common where I live is very uninspiring. But that doesn’t mean I can’t make something unique that I can be proud of. And this was a practice in getting out of my comfort zone. Since I’m starting to feel more comfortable with watercolor, it’s very important that I push myself now. I love it so much! Should I do a little series? More cactuses? Succulents?
