Designing a component from scratch (instead of using off the shelf parts) meant we had complete control over every element of our new cordless unit, the only constraint being that it fit on our existing designs. We explored a variety of options for the look and user experience (button, switch, etc), with the goal of finding something elegant and intentional that didn't distract from the shade, the main visual element of the lamp. In the end, we landed on a low-profile, matte black base, with an intuitive but hidden button, accomplishing brightness and temperature adjustment in the same click.

Design development is such an underrated skill. I love it though. It’s where god is, in the detail.

Do you sell the bases separately? Are they compatible with the corded lamps you sell?
