Four BSF personnel were injured after a clash with locals during an anti-smuggling operation near the India-Bangladesh border in Tripura’s Sepahijala district. Police have arrested eight people as tensions escalated in the area. The incident began with a verbal altercation between residents and BSF personnel from the 49th Battalion’s Ashabari Border Outpost during an operation against suspected smuggling. According to preliminary information, a BSF jawan detained a local resident, Hefzur Rahman, on suspicion of smuggling and allegedly assaulted him with a stick. The alleged assault angered residents, who blocked the Boxanagar-Rahimpur road, disrupting traffic. Assistant Commandant Rohit Kumar and three other BSF personnel were injured in the ensuing clash. A video circulating on social media shows an agitated crowd rushing towards the BSF team, carrying bamboo sticks and attacking their vehicle. The vehicle’s windshield was also smashed. Přestože nás dělí tisíce kilometrů, naše země spojuje bohatá historie kulturní výměny, respekt k řemeslné preciznosti, umění, architektuře i zachovávání tradic. 🇨🇿❤️🇯🇵 It was an honor to meet Mr. Kansuke Nagaoka, Ambassador of Japan to the Czech Republic, ahead of @missinternationalofficial 2026. 🇨🇿🇯🇵 During our meeting, we discussed Czech-Japanese relations, the connections between our cultures and traditions, as well as places I should explore upon my return to Japan. Although thousands of kilometers separate our countries, we share a rich history of cultural exchange, an appreciation for craftsmanship, art, architecture, and the preservation of traditions. I am sincerely grateful to Ambassador Nagaoka for his warm welcome and insightful conversation. I look forward to returning to Japan, this time not only as a visitor, but also as a representative of the Czech Republic. And did you know that Prague and Kyoto have been sister cities since 1996? This year marks 30 years of cooperation between these two cities. 🇨🇿❤️🇯🇵 • @missinternationalofficial @missczechrepublic @tatanamakarenko • @velvyslanectvijaponska • #missinternational #czechjapaneserelations #embassyofjapan #womenindiplomacy #missczechrepublic
