What is a Sketch?
A lot of people question if my ink drawing can be considered “sketches”. I would argue a sketch depends on the Intention.
Most of the time I do quick drawings from 10 to 20 minutes to study a topic or to explore ideas, these I would consider as Sketches.
I use Ink because it forces me to lock in, I don’t hesitate on a specific Idea and I need to commit every design choice. When I want to try different options, then I can just draw the same thing multiple times, (because I work directly in ink, this is relatively fast)
And just to be clear a occasionally also use pencil, for example for an under drawing in some watercolour paintings
Or to get proportions 100 percent for client work
