The issues of corruption and ghost flood control projects not only have political ramifications, but also environmental. As the Philippines faces supercharged typhoon seasons, climate adaption is not just policy— its survival. Every peso misallocated, every flood control project constructed with substandard materials is a livelihood impacted, a home lost, and a family displaced.

However, the resilience and strength exhibited by the 80,000 demonstrators who turned out in Luneta is a testament to the power of collective action. It was a defining moment of my life to join hand in hand with my kabaybayan to call for transparency, accountability, and reform.

Let today be a sparkplug for continued conversations and actions addressing how to build a greener, brighter, and more climate resilient home 🇵🇭
