Weekend things… I never do this, but nazo… 😂 WE CANNOT ALWAYS CONTROL WHAT THE WORLD SAYS ABOUT US OR OUR CHILDREN, BUT WE CAN HELP BUILD THE CONFIDENCE WITH WHICH THEY FACE IT. ❤️ Social media will drive you crazy, especially when you have little understanding of how its filters, enhancers and digital technologies work. I’m an adult. I’ve been in this industry for decades, and I’ve developed the resilience and confidence to withstand the trolling, bullying, unsolicited opinions and the astonishing sense of entitlement some people believe they have over another person’s life. BUT HEREIN LIES A MUCH DEEPER CONVERSATION. Children and young adults face this very same scrutiny, often without the emotional maturity, resilience or confidence to withstand it. The psychological consequences can be devastating: anxiety, depression, diminished self-worth and, in the most tragic circumstances, suicide. And THAT is where our attention should be directed. This is why I’m passionate about initiatives like the Phuti Khomo Modelling Expo (PKME), where we nurture confidence, self-expression and an unshakable sense of self-worth from a young age. Empowering young people to embrace their individuality, stand firmly in their choices and live unapologetically, without allowing outside opinions or noise to dictate who they are or how they choose to live their lives. And to know that it’s ok to try and change your mind. Because confidence isn’t merely about how you look. It’s about knowing who you are, regardless of what the world says about you. I’ll be going LIVE this week to unpack this conversation and explore how confidence-building programmes like PKME can equip our children with essential life skills to navigate adolescence and adulthood. Keep checking my Stories for the LIVE date and time. Let’s have a conversation that actually matters. ❤️ #ladyp #purpose #PKME #ConfidenceIsPower #life
