Some pieces of furniture carry more than history—they carry family memories. This much-loved cabinet, passed down through Amanda Holden’s family, was destined for her mum Judy’s new conservatory. My commission was to give it a new lease of life while preserving its sentiment.

The brief was classic and refined, inspired by Judy’s love of nature, flowers and ladybirds, with character and a little magic. Words that jumped out from the messages include “delicate” and “ladylike”

I gave the cabinet the feel of an old apothecary piece, using an aged, timeworn finish, soft verdigris tones and hand-painted wisteria. Bold, whimsical botanical details add a contemporary edge while retaining its traditional charm.

Amanda also sent me a photograph of a mother owl with her baby and asked me to incorporate them into the design. Tucked discreetly inside the cabinet, they now have their own little hiding place—a secret detail with special meaning. 🦉

And, of course, there’s a ladybird. 🐞

I’m delighted that Judy loves the cabinet and Amanda is thrilled with the result. This is my fifth commission for Amanda, and I’m genuinely grateful for her continued trust.

As my creative journey increasingly takes me into jewellery with Found, commissions like this remind me how much I love transforming familiar pieces into something unexpected.

Different materials and scales, but the same creative instinct: a love of beautiful things with character, individuality and a story to tell.

Here’s to reinvention, in all its forms.

Davido Likes VDM’s Post Criticising Him and His Uncle, Governor Adeleke, Over Support for Tinubu’s Re-election

Nigerian singer Davido has liked a social media post by activist VeryDarkMan (VDM), who criticised him and his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, over the governor’s support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

Earlier today, VDM shared a post questioning Adeleke’s decision to attend the APC campaign council event held in Abuja on Wednesday, October 14, despite being a member of the Accord Party.

During the event, Adeleke pledged his support for Tinubu’s re-election, saying he already “smells” the President’s victory in the 2027 elections. He also announced that he would lead Tinubu’s re-election campaign in Osun State.

Reacting to the development, VDM recalled Davido’s previous criticisms of Tinubu and the APC when his uncle was fighting for re-election. He read out the singer’s past tweets condemning the ruling party, including one in which Davido stated that he could never support the APC.

VDM questioned Davido’s position on the party now that his uncle is working with the same politicians the singer previously criticised. He also accused Davido of not having the interests of Nigerians, particularly the people of Osun State, at heart, alleging that the singer only remembers his home state during election periods.

Addressing Davido directly, VDM said, “You are a user. You are someone who uses your tans and your popularity to your advantage of yourself. I don’t want to see you put your mouth in election matters again.”

🚨A 32-year-old Austin, Texas man invited a 15-year-old girl and her parents to a Trump rally while also trying to arrange s*x with her. His past makes the story even more disturbing.

Hunter James Kufta was arrested Thursday night and charged with online solicitation of a minor, a second-degree felony that carries up to 20 years in prison. Harris County Constable Precinct 1 says he began messaging the Houston-area girl in June, said he wanted to have s*x with her and possibly conceive a child, and wanted her and her parents to attend a San Antonio rally with him. Court records say she tried to cut off contact after learning his real age, and her parents reported him in late September.

A detective assumed her online identity, and Kufta allegedly kept planning a meetup. Bond was set at $300,000.

Kufta moved from Florida to Texas in April. Harris County officials say he was previously convicted in Florida of a s*x offense involving a minor and had to register as a s*x offender there. Collier County deputies also arrested him in 2022 for allegedly sending a lewd Snapchat photo to a minor.

Kufta’s facebook page is packed with pro-Trump content. It includes MAGA-hat selfies outside the White House fence and Trump International Hotel, a 2020 Florida rally selfie captioned “Crazy year filled with lots of ups and downs,” and a 2017 photo at a Trump-Pence bus. In 2021 it shared a Donald Trump Jr. post celebrating Kyle Rittenhouse’s not guilty verdict. He shared a selfie posing with anti-LGBTQ Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. He also shared a post celebrating the defeat of Thomas Massie, a co-sponsor of the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

Why does these MAGA guys keep getting arrested multiple times a day for the same crimes?
