SOME RELATIONSHIPS ARE FOUNTAINS, AND SOME ARE DRAINS!! WHEW! And sometimes we confuse the two because there’s water in both! My sister @kierrasheard and I shared a REAL moment about relationships, discernment, loneliness, and learning to recognize who’s refreshing you and who’s draining you! Everybody connected to you isn’t assigned to pour into you. Some connections will leave you empty! THIS SUNDAY at 7PM EST on @foxsoul! 📺🔥 #UpliftingMoments #KierraSheard #FOXSOUL #DGeorgeHines #BeUplifted
The bedroom at Place Dauphine was an odd shape because of an old chimney flue that bumped out along the headboard wall. We straightened the face of the wall out, creating storage wherever we could, and pushed the bed back into an alcove to maximize space at the foot of the bed. A deep teal mohair velvet on the upholstered niche and a paler blue green on the walls contrasts nicely with the rich wood beams, floor, and built in nightstands. The bedspread is a vintage find. The view out the window is constantly changing with the seasons but pretty consistently delightful. The French avoid it assuming it’s full of tourists, most tourists have never heard of it, and it’s always just a few folks playing pétanque. Feels like a sleepy village…which is very surprising given the location :) . 📷 @laurejoliet
Looking back at these, so many of these issues are ironically being vilified for holding people accountable. There’s an unspoken rule to a lot of social situations where it’s improper or impolite to hold people accountable and that those who do are seen as problematic for drawing attention to it rather than ignoring it for the sake of social harmony. I’ve always found that so strange. If everyone thinks X is a bad person, and the harmony comes from appeasing someone at someone or everyone else’s expense, how is that harmony? Honestly I think that’s what’s wrong with so much of society. Keeping quiet about wrong doing because it’s less energy to ignore it only makes the world a worse place to live. This is why London is a city where you can get abused on a train whilst everyone else minds their business. Some people would rather stay neutral to avoid conflict but conflict comes for us all, if you have the option to be neutral, it’s just not your turn yet. I get it, we’re all tired but it is just too exhausting to play these games when the prize isn’t even peace, it’s cowardice. What do you think becomes of people who are emboldened to constantly do wrong without ever being held accountable or their behaviour even being acknowledged as wrong? You get Donald Trump, Andrew Tate, people who are confidently and openly terrible people. And look, I know I’m autistic, sometimes my timing or delivery is off but I don’t see I’m often policed far more than the person who’s giving me something to call out. So yeah, maybe I do make things awkward but it’s because I refuse to absorb other people’s wrong doing and if that makes me the villain then so be it, let me be the villain for making life difficult for bad people.
