A language barrier didn’t stop this nurse from making sure her patient understood the instructions. Since she couldn’t explain everything in English, she created a simple handwritten guide showing the patient not to eat or drink after 10 p.m. and to return at 8 a.m. the next morning for a blood test.

Sometimes, simple solutions are the most effective. Instead of using complicated medical terms and risking confusion, she turned the instructions into something the patient could easily understand. It may seem like a small gesture, but in healthcare, making sure patients truly understand what they need to do can make a meaningful difference.
