OUT NOW! 🐾 Eltie Takes the Lead is officially on shelves everywhere books are sold! It’s been so much fun hearing all the positive (or should I say PAWsitive) feedback from those of you who already have the book in your hands! I’m so happy you’re loving Eltie as much as I do. ❤️ For those who haven’t picked up a copy yet, here are a few of my favorite pages to give you a little peek inside! It’s available now in hardcover and audiobook. Illustration 1: Illustration of a shaggy black dog sitting and smiling at the viewer, with brown eyes, a pink tongue out, and a white patch of fur on his chest. Illustration 2: Three illustrations of the same black dog in costume: as a firefighter climbing a ladder toward a cat in a tree, as a doctor with red glasses and a stethoscope beside a mouse, and as a chef in a tall white hat stirring a pan of vegetables.
Cosplay showcase - Charlie & Cathy from Saint Greaver's ERSATZ - Trench Dogs I absolutely love Ersatz and Trench Dogs is an incredibly moving animation that I wanted to do fanart for so much. Instead of art, I got inspired to try making a cosplay. It's not fully done yet, but I finished the main parts today and decided to do a test run and make some videos showing off the motion. (Decided to not add any voiceover, so it's just random music.) Still needs some tweaks and I need a better grasp of the puppeteering, but I'm happy with it! (I did change the string attachment last minute before the video, which actually made it slip too much, so I will use the previous one that made the mouth more snappy.) Yes, Cathy is more of a puppet, the head is separate, kind of a half mask, with a string running down to the body, where it's attached and the lower jaw is moved with my head motions. I'm thinking about adding a string to the tail so that I can move it without directly touching it too. I haven't done this kind of semi realism in a while, so making the mask was a fun challenge! I haven't done any gorey parts like the ribs around, might do that later. For now besides Cathy, I tailored a jacket to match the Ersatz designs more (though even after resizing it, it's a bit baggy, so I may revisit it) and got a base helmet that I repainted and added a strap to. I did make an eva foam one from scratch, but I waa unhappy with the shape. I also made some leather boot covers, but they're not much visible here. #ersatz #cosplay
