The single player (1PC 1DM) Dungeons and Dragons podcast @awadewithjamandbread and I started six years ago aired it’s final episode yesterday. We recorded a few weeks back and I was taken aback how emotional I became when we finished. We’ve put our hearts into this project recording through pandemics, moving (sometimes states away), new loves, new self discoveries. I filled an entire notebook with feelings, jokes, and lore. This project got me up and DMing for the first time when we turned the tables and Tea played Mat Mapman. I’ve grown so much along with Mairi as a player, a producer, and a person. Dying 6-7 times, changing species through magical means, killing your patron, and gaining 2-3 new classes (depending if you count Barovia) will do that to a person. But making major decisions for the entirety of three hour gameplay sessions became a skill I could master with the best DM Tea Wade. We created such fun between stupid references because we have so much of the same brain, to always making sure the story wrapped back around to be about what Mairi was feeling. Whether she’s a god or not in the end is up to you to decide. But to anyone who listened at all, to those special few who were bitten by the bug and texted us theories and more (@evan_bell, @h3rmart, @emelie.claxton, @ebethbham and anyone I couldn’t find to tag), the best social media meme maker @asp_blue_ribbon (who made everything in this carousel), and the best scene partner for every other character in our world Tea Wade, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
