✨Meet The Team ✨
Today - dancer Noa Nies (@noa_nies )
❓What’s your name and what’s your role?
❗️My name is Noa Nies and I am a dancer in Elisabeth Schilling’s new creation ‘Sensorial Symphonies’.
❓What excites you about the Sensorial Symphonies project?
❗️Sensorial Symphonies feels special to me — it marks my first time being part of a project on such a large and interconnected scale. It feels nice to witness the many threads that weave this work together: from the exchange between Elisabeth and plant philosophy student Héctor Andrés Peña, to the composer’s beautiful reimagining of Rachmaninoff, to the work of our set and costume designer — and so many others behind the scenes. I feel grateful to grow as a dancer within this process.
❓What is one moment from the creation process that has stayed with you?
❗️Our first week in residency, back in December, remains present and precious to look back at — to see how far we’ve come individually and as a group. Another moment is the experience of sharing our work in Linz, when few outside eyes were invited into our process. Feeling the piece through their impressions gave us new layers of understanding — to have different perspectives and ways to sense what we experience from the inside.
❓If you were a plant, which one would you be and why?
❗️If I had to choose, I’d say corals — not quite a plant, I know, but often spoken of as one in our everyday language. My answer is shaped by my other worlds: beyond dance, I am also a diver and science student, drawn since childhood to the marine realm. Corals, especially sea fans, hold a quiet power — rooted in place yet moved by the tides. I find something beautifully symbolic in that balance, between strength and vulnerability, stillness and movement.
🌿 What if we could feel the world as plants do?
✨ Sensorial Symphonies: Not just a performance. An act of reclamation.
