HELP! Donations needed. This is not how I expected my Friday morning to go. I noticed a dog in a crate on the side of the road in the hot sun, just laying there. I called a friend and asked if they could help. When we arrived, we noticed the dog was laying in its own feces with flies and fleas all over with no food. 😩 Then noticed a second dog in the same condition. There was a man sitting there with who said they weren’t his dogs, and he wasn’t sure who they belong to. There’s a lot going on in this encampment so we yelled to try to find an owner and no one stepped up. We could not get any straight answers. All I know is that we were not going to leave these dogs in this condition. We’re having a big heatwave here in Southern California and these poor animals had no protection from the elements. If you’re going to have a dog, you need to provide appropriate care and that’s that. Apologies for the language. No one stepped up so we’re considering these dogs abandoned and we were not about to allow them to die from heat stroke today. We always have a plan, A and Plan B in place for every dog we rescue. This was completely unexpected and we have no place for these dogs so they will be going with our trainer until we can find fosters. These guys are just about a year old and are beyond sweet, but zero training and incredibly hyper from being pent up, locked in a small little cage. They’re now with our vet, getting exams, vaccinated, etc. They weren’t chipped, of course. Please consider donating. These dogs need the works. ✨ ARC REVIEWS-: I have been so behind on my ARC'S so I am happy that I finally got the time to finish my ARC'S and review them. #thrillerbookstagram #arcreview #bookreview #bookishthoughts #igreads ✨ Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with the ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine. This book had me immediately captivated with its spooky vibes. I definitely loved the murder investigation revolving around a creepy inn, an abandoned spooky hospital & a strange town that gave the story such an unsettling and eerie atmosphere. The writing style was quite easy and engaging making the narrative easy and quick to follow. The fun & witty banter between Corbin and Wren was my favourite part of this book . I really enjoyed their dynamic which kept things quite entertaining and lively. That said, I felt that the supernatural aspect of the book was quite underdeveloped. I also found the ending quite disappointing and confusing as it left me with more questions. I expected a bit more clarity. 👉 Overall , it was a quick and easy entertaining read . I will definitely be looking forward to the next book in the series. ✨ Thank you to Netgalley and Datura for providing me with the ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine. First of all, this is such a promising debut. I loved how easy and engaging the writing in this book was, along with how character-driven the story felt. I absolutely loved the friendship dynamics between Grace & Jo . They added so much value and personality to the storyline. There were lots of humorous and lighter moments that made this such an entertaining read. I really enjoyed the amateur-sleuth aspect of the story with two women getting involved in solving a murder mystery. That said, the mystery itself lacked depth for me . I wanted more suspense and twists. The pacing also felt quite uneven at times with some sections moving quite slower than expected. While I enjoyed Grace's internal monologues, their repetitive nature was quite distracting. I also predicted the killer quite early on. 👉 Overall, this was a fun, entertaining cosy murder mystery with character driven storylin
