🎥🎬: All Quiet on the Western Front (2022)

All Quiet on the Western Front follows Paul Bäumer, a young German who eagerly joins the army during World War I, inspired by patriotic stories about the glory of serving his country.

Once Paul arrives at the Western Front, his romantic ideas about war quickly disappear. He and his fellow soldiers are thrown into brutal trench warfare, where survival becomes their only goal. As the fighting continues, Paul witnesses the devastating reality of combat and watches the people around him change.

Away from the battlefield, German officials attempt to negotiate an armistice while soldiers like Paul continue fighting. The contrast between political decisions and the horrific reality experienced by ordinary soldiers becomes increasingly devastating.

Themes: war, survival, loss of innocence, nationalism, friendship, and the human cost of conflict.
