It's been 24 years since that fateful day. I lived on a well-known military base (Ft. Meade), where we referenced the important military place as "the building." I didn't know if our base would be the next target. Over the last 10 years, I have asked myself a ton of questions. When you live with PTSD surrounding an event like that day, it wouldn't allow me to ask nor believe the "whys," "what," "who's" of that day. Regardless of who was behind the atrocities that day, I will never forget how united our country became during that time. We put politics aside and became "one nation under God." With that being said, no matter your politics, religion, or other ideology, this country lost an incredible man who lived and died for sharing his faith and free speech. R.I.P. Charlie Kirk. I pray for your children and wife. Thank you for your bravery in discussing difficult topics and for sharing your unwavering love of Christ. No matter your political beliefs or ideology, a man was murdered before our eyes while simply standing up for his faith and morals. Last time I checked, we live in a country where we can share our ideals and faith freely. My heart grieves for our nation that people are heinously celebrating his death. God, as you do, we pray that somehow you use this for good to unite our country and demonstrate your unfailing love in the midst of darkness and chaos.
