Talking to a hard headed casual, can be compared to talking to a wall with ears. You can listen, but you can’t hear what I’m saying. Because you don’t want to hear. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But sometimes, folks opinions start to sound like total lunacy.

When I saw @theisabelbrown post about the way some women online are bragging about ab*rting their baby boys (or posting things like, “Time to find out whether it’s a girl or an ab*rtion”), I was gutted but not surprised.

I’ve been on the internet long enough to watch the predominantly female narrative surrounding gender swing from rumblings about “male incompetence” or public figures apologetically “acknowledging the complexity” of raising males (as if they’re inherently defective) to such a fever-pitched extreme that women frequently admit to “hating all men” with the exception of their own husbands (if that)—and are supported by thousands of comments.

Someone is sure to say that, if this many women think this way, then there must be something to it.

The truth is, as heartbreaking as it is to imagine even a single woman m*rdering her own baby son in her womb, this is not how most women see men.

Social contagion is real. The loudest, man-hating feminist voices on TikTok are not representative of the majority. And we have a very real opportunity to tell the truth about men.

And the truth is: They’re made in God’s image, have inherent value as such, possess incredible character traits, skills, initiative, and compassion. They fight, build, protect, strive, grow, and sacrifice. They’re essential to every culture (and not just bc those m*rdered baby boys wouldn’t have existed without their fathers’ contribution).

Are there evil men? Of course.

There are evil women too. (The ones who brag about killing their sons prove this.)

“All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

But there are *so many* good ones who love well and work hard. They have been the overwhelmingly vast majority of my own experience with men in my life.

Sadly, flowing right alongside an epidemic of angry, vindictive women who hate men is a rising tide of disenfranchised, undiscipled young men who could very well grow into that which the loudest negative voices claim they are.

We must stand in the gap to ensure this doesn’t happen.

Moms of boys: It’s time to raise godly men like it’s our jobs. Because it is.

An internal investigation by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (#CMPD) has reportedly found “no evidence” that a racist group chat involving officers impacted criminal cases or law enforcement actions.😳👀

Police Chief Estella Patterson announced that the department reviewed body camera footage, arrest records, traffic stop data, and complaint histories to determine whether the officers’ alleged biases influenced their work. “As of this point, we have not found any evidence of this,” Patterson said. ICYMI: the investigation stems from a group chat uncovered during a separate State Bureau of Investigation inquiry into an officer’s misuse of #Flock cameras. The messages reportedly spanned several years and contained racial, s3xual, and religious bias. It’s also alleged that the officers used the group chat to compete over who could pull over the most Black drivers.

According to reports, over half a dozen officers were involved. Three have since resigned, while an internal board unanimously recommended terminating three others. Patterson described her reaction as “one of disgust, anger and frustration,” adding, “The allegations against them are serious, they’re deeply troubling, and frankly, I’m disappointed that we’re even having to talk about this today.”

Although the department says it hasn’t uncovered evidence of discriminatory enforcement, Patterson says she’s pushing for further accountability. CMPD plans to seek the revocation of the officers’ #NorthCarolina law enforcement certifications, and she has requested a federal review for potential civil rights violations. The department is also strengthening body camera audits, reviewing hiring practices, and expanding oversight measures to prevent similar misconduct.

You know that child who KNOWS the rules, makes the SAME mistake over and over, says “I’m sorry” and then does it AGAIN?! 😭

Here’s what I wish more teachers knew: Knowing better doesn’t always mean having the skills to DO better.

And another lecture isn’t going to magically teach a 5-year-old self-control, reflection or how to break a behavior pattern!

Instead of just telling them “stop blurting,” or “raise your hand” for the thousandth time they SING about growth mindset in language a 5-year-old can actually understand!

They’re learning that making a mistake doesn’t mean they’re STUCK. They can reflect, picture a better choice, try again and GROW. 🥹

And TEACHER, here’s the best part: YOU don’t have to be the one repeating the same lesson 47 times a day!

Teach the skill BEFORE the behavior happens. Play the song. Practice it. Let the music reinforce it.

Because the goal isn’t just to STOP the behavior. It’s to teach children the skills to make a DIFFERENT choice next time.

Less lecturing. Less repeating. More time doing what you actually LOVE: TEACHING! ❤️
