Baar Baar NYC is officially coming to a close.
Words can't even express how grateful I am for the opportunity to perform every single Saturday for five years at the first ever Bollywood brunch for the New York City community.
Baar Baar was my home away from home. The team was a second family, and the love from the community and the audience was immeasurable. I grew up here, found my friends and fans, and found my voice to share with everyone 300 people every weekend.
When things first opened up post-COVID, for 1-2 years Bollywood brunch was the only thing around for the entire South Asian community in New York City to come to. I never thought about how many people would message me or DM me asking me when I would be performing. I never realized the magnitude of what that would become, and what that would mean for me for my future as a singer and musician and how it catapulted the overall New York City desi event space. It was pioneering. It was iconic.
The thrill and energy of performing was addictive. My mission was to just bring everyone together and share my love for Bollywood music, especially that of the 90s & 2000s. And I was crazy to do it on my one day off every week in residency & fellowship driving up long hours from Philly to NYC and back. I can't help but reflect on all the beautiful memories I have created for everyone and for myself.
Thank you everyone. It's been a beautiful journey.
Special love to
