When @baarbaarnyc opened, it changed the way Indian restaurants were imagined in America! From its modern gourmet cuisine in a fun setting, to its “Mural” of a fierce yet gorgeous woman to its live music brunches, it has been a trailblazer. After a very successful run, this Sunday, September 21, it will be hosting its final bollywood brunch with live music. Join us to toast to past memories and to an exciting future ahead. It’s not a final goodbye. 💌 A love letter to @baarbaarnyc 💌 As you may have seen by now, after an amazing 8 year run, Baar Baar NYC is officially closed. Where do I even begin? From being there opening night (slide 19), to celebrating both me (slide 6) and my sister’s (slide 17) engagements to our favorite people, to countless birthdays and celebrations (all other slides) over the last decade, @baarbaarnyc wasn’t just our family’s restaurant, it was home. Baar baar watched me grow up from an overly confident, immature 22 year old girl to a cautiously optimistic, mature 30 year old woman. From countless lemon drop shots (IYKYK), to singing on stage, to 2 AM nights and bathroom selfies and sparklers - Baar Baar will remain a core memory for all of us. To my amazing parents @rajivsharma_nyc @payalsharmanyc and the talented chefs @chefsujans @paramjeet.bombra , I’m so proud of you for creating so much more than a restaurant but a movement. The first to do the now trendy mural, the first to make Indian food sexy and talked about, and the first to truly create a community around a space like this. To all our friends and family who supported us and came so much over the years - we are so thankful for your love, patronage and kindness. It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later. I love you forever, @baarbaarnyc . by @baarbaarnyc

Saturday - One Last Time - Let’s give Baar Baar @baarbaarnyc a fitting farewell it deserves! An icon of New York City, a place that set a stage for Desis in USA to enjoy Bollywood through its iconic Brunches. The food and drinks by Chef Sujan Sarkar always stood out. I am eternally grateful that I was a part of its history. When I visited Baar Baar in 2018 never did I think that I’ll be able to sing here. In 2019 I got my first chance and continued to sing for 6 years. Thank you @payalsharmanyc @rajivsharma_nyc for giving me this opportunity. Thank you Paul, Ravi, Sam and entire Baar Baar staff who always stood by me and supported in every way possible. I know you all will come up even more iconic place very soon and I can’t wait to experience it. Thank you to @chunks_of_joy who has been my rock throughout the journey and who contributed to every aspect of my performances. . #baarbaarnyc #desievents #brunch #bollywoodbrunch #nycsinger #nyc #nycrestaurant #iconicnyc #livesinging #danceparty #njsinger #livemusic #bollywoodsinger #performer #entertainer by @baarbaarnyc
Baar Baar NYC is officially coming to a close. Words can't even express how grateful I am for the opportunity to perform every single Saturday for five years at the first ever Bollywood brunch for the New York City community. Baar Baar was my home away from home. The team was a second family, and the love from the community and the audience was immeasurable. I grew up here, found my friends and fans, and found my voice to share with everyone 300 people every weekend. When things first opened up post-COVID, for 1-2 years Bollywood brunch was the only thing around for the entire South Asian community in New York City to come to. I never thought about how many people would message me or DM me asking me when I would be performing. I never realized the magnitude of what that would become, and what that would mean for me for my future as a singer and musician and how it catapulted the overall New York City desi event space. It was pioneering. It was iconic. The thrill and energy of performing was addictive. My mission was to just bring everyone together and share my love for Bollywood music, especially that of the 90s & 2000s. And I was crazy to do it on my one day off every week in residency & fellowship driving up long hours from Philly to NYC and back. I can't help but reflect on all the beautiful memories I have created for everyone and for myself. Thank you everyone. It's been a beautiful journey. Special love to @payalsharmanyc @rajivsharma_nyc @baarbaarnyc for making me a part of the family ❤️ #baarbaar #nyc #nycevents #singer #desi #bollywoodbrunch #desievents #bollywoodsinger #performer by @baarbaarnyc
My friends @shrutirya and @kalpenn were kind enough to host me in New York and make me feel home away from home at @baarbaarnyc. Special thanks to @bjorntoday and @jacobluftglass for being a constant support over the years. Of course, @tanmaybhat couldn’t resist roasting me on stage 😅. Every person in this post is someone I deeply admire, and I feel so lucky to share company with @gurinder.chadha and @moamer. Back in India, my team stayed up all night in Mumbai just to make sure everything ran smoothly in New York — @nambyaaaar @jayantkaushik.mp4 you guys are the best. Won’t tag @xankurkaushikx and @rishabhnahar kyunki ab inki profile meri hi profile lagti hai 😜.
