D&D 5E is nearly impossible to run effectively as low-magic or low-fantasy. It just becomes a combat game that’s less interesting because everyone only uses weaponry.

Sounds great, wizards wont get far only knowing cantrips since theres no spell scrolls and the rest if caught casting magic will be enslaved by bandits as a rarity.

Low magic settings simply don’t work well in dnd, not claiming simply ignoring your DM and making a character that doesn’t fit the setting is ok. Just saying that Low magic settings take away like half the game experience

Might be a hot take but limiting players is never the move. World Lore be damned let the players be what they want and spin the story they want, just tell them they need to work with you to work it into the actual world/story.
