I was saddened this morning on hearing a little girl died after going in to DKA , even after taking her to the Doctor. Her family are campaigning to get children tested and better education for parents about TYPE ONE DIABETES! My daughter was diagnosed is DKA after I had taken her to the GP I was told I was a fussy mother when I asked for her to be tested and sent away, I nearly lost my beautiful girl . Parents should be educated in Type One by Health Visitors , Doctors need to think type one, it is a small drop of blood on a test strip that takes less than a minute to just rule it out. It is not difficult is it .. remember Thirst.. Toilet…Tired…. Thinner. If your child, grandchild friends child shows they symptoms test!! It’s not rocket science to educate so parents know what to look for!! Ok rant over
