Today is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.
In October last year, we found out we were pregnant for the first time. We were over the moon. We were excited, hopeful, and blissfully unaware of how fragile that joy could be.
At 9 weeks, we lost our first pregnancy. I’ve never felt anything like the pain of that day, or the weeks that followed. It was a grief that took the ground from under me, one I didn’t know existed until I was in it.
I remember feeling so alone. Surrounded by pregnancy announcements and stories of people growing their families, I didn’t realise how many people quietly experience loss behind closed doors.
So today, I share my story in the hopes that no one walking this path ever feels alone in it. Wherever you are in your journey, I see you, and I’m with you.
To our first, our little shooting star 💫
We think of you every day.
