The comments on this are demeaning and ridiculous. Maine is on the Canadian border so some names are French. Plus regional pronunciations can be wildly different. For instance, in Nova Scotia there is a town called Antigonish, but it's pronounced annie-gonish. Then there's Toronto-trawnna.

Stoney Creek Dairy 📍135 King Street East (Amica Senior Living Complex) {The dairy portion closed in 2002, though operations continued until the site ultimately closed down in 2013. The remaining property was eventually cleared in 2016 to make way for the modern Amica Senior Living complex. Honoring its rich local legacy, Amica constructed a small ice cream parlour which opens to the public on summer weekends.} Tracing its roots back to 1929 when George Dawson founded the dairy at 135 King Street East, initially collecting and bottling milk right out of the family home. In the early days, the dairy operated a door-to-door milk delivery service. Residents would leave their empty milk bottles by the road along with purchased tokens for fresh milk, and the delivery truck driver would exchange full bottles for the tokens and empties. By the early 1940s, ice cream production began on-site, and individual cones were sold directly to customers from the King Street outlet before the operation grew to supply ice cream wholesale. George Hirst joined the firm as manager in 1936, assisting Dawson as the business flourished. By the 1960s, facing a ferociously competitive dairy market alongside Royal Oak, the Dawsons operated one of the most modern dairies in the district with a fleet of 23 trucks. During the bustling 1950s, the location was so popular that six car hops directed traffic in and out of the parking lot, and peak days saw more then 12,000 customers. A more modern facility was constructed on the property in 1964. George Dawson retired in the early 1970s, passing the business to his son, Greg Dawson. George Dawson passed away in 1986. Under the Dawson family, the enterprise remained a local institution until 1996, when Delicious Alternative Desserts Ltd. purchased the business and took it public on the Vancouver Stock Exchange. In 1998, DAD acquired the rights to produce and sell Ben and Jerry’s ice cream in Canada, launching an ambitious $11-million production overhaul that ultimately ballooned to $11.6 million in debt. Facing severe financial strain, the company suffered a trading freeze in February 2001 and went into receivership in 2002.
