🌅 Back For Year 2 @ GCU! 🌇
A few weeks ago, I had the privilege & blessing of driving Grant back to school. Gus was supposed to come too, but he got horribly sick the day before we were to leave. Enter, Mother/Son roadtrip! I had so much fun w/ this young man, recounting his previous year @ school & relinquishing all control of the sound system. 🎶 We recaptured a few iconic photo memories from last year’s trip & talked about the upcoming school year.
I miss him so much! I know he’s in a good place, surrounded by a great community!
Time to lock in & get after it, Son! You can do this!
Focus on Phil 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things.
PS-The rain & wind started as we were eating dinner w/ Cousin Gabriel. I should have taken more stock in the downed tree outside the dining area, or the eerie green sky all around us, or the quiet when the wind momentarily subsided. Next red flag 🚩 SHOULD have been the moving boxes flying out of all the dumpsters on campus., we had to dodge a few so we wouldn’t get hit by flying boxes! We said our prayers & hugged goodbye. Since I was driving through the desert alone, @ night, I was eager to get on the road & start my 4hr trip back to the hotel. It was a long day & I was tired. Never did I ever expect to have, “Drive through the middle of a desert Haboob” on my BINGO card of life. It was truly harrowing. *If you don’t know what a Haboob is, neither did I!! Funny name, not funny to drive through. I encourage you to look it up. So terrifying. Truly thankful to God that I made it home safely.
