Ferrari Civil War. ——— The internal intra-team rivalry at Scuderia Ferrari erupted dramatically at the 2026 Mexico City Grand Prix, where polesitter Lewis Hamilton and teammate Charles Leclerc clashed on the very first lap. Battling fiercely into Turn 4, Leclerc lunged around the outside, causing both cars to run wide; Leclerc cut across the grass to take the lead, while Hamilton lost momentum and dropped behind Max Verstappen. Though the stewards issued a five-second penalty to Leclerc for gaining an advantage off-track, the resulting fragmentation cost Ferrari a potential 1-2 finish and essentially handed the race victory to Verstappen.
