Mami 🫂

This year has been crazy and unexpected. One thing I wrote down in my journal when the year started was “For my mom and dad to be back in Peru before the end of the year”.

My mom this year had developed health problems and it was getting worse and worse each month which left her being hospitalized twice over the summer. It became too much to be in Miami during this but had to get cleared to fly. We knew as a family we needed her to get to Peru for treatment as soon as she can so she can be able to be with family.

It was tough to see my mom not being able to breathe or do regular things as before and I prayed that there be healing. The plan was that both her and my dad would travel together but circumstances had to change.

During the last weekend in Miami for her, I told her that the moment she made it to Peru she going to feel different. There is something so beautiful about God’s faithfulness because those words became true.

The moment she made it back and seeing my mom walk around with no breathing problems, seeing her dance again after a year of not being able to and enjoy life has encouraged me so much in my faith.

Seeing her reunited with family after 25 years, going back to her hometown and seeing her home, it made me excited for the future. She has started treatment and feeling better more everyday.

God has shown me so much this month about having faith even when things look impossible. As we enter the last couple months of the year, I’m encouraged that God will make a way for my dad to make it back to Peru before Christmas this year and reunite.

Mom, thank you for all you sacrificed for my siblings and I, thank you for your heart, your encouragement during the hard times. Please enjoy life and family
