365/365 as Florida residents ☀️🌴🩷

one year ago today we finished the 1,100 mile drive from TX ➡️ FL [thanks to @natemartindale driving the box truck filled with our entire life and uncle Jon providing moral support] and not a day goes by that we regret the decision to uproot our lives in search of more sunshine and magic ✨

homeownership has proven to be equal parts fun, scary, humbling, and rewarding. turns out, nothing is quite as exciting as fence install day and no breeze feels as good as the one coming from the ceiling fan you installed yourselves [7 ceiling fans to be exact]. hurricanes are scary, solar panel salesmen are annoying, and you’ll probably squish a toad or two in the tracks of your sliding doors. BUT! mowing the lawn is kinda fun??, cooking in a kitchen that has a hood over the stove is a game-changer, and Florida sunsets on the patio with a glass of rosé make it all worth it 🧡

the list of needs quickly overshadows the list of wants when furnishing a house. our vision was to create a place where friends and family could comfortably visit & vacation and always feel welcomed. we may not have rugs or art or much decor, but we have cozy beds, comfy couches, and 3000sq feet of vacation home covered in dog hair and love.
