Unexpected rivalry

Instagram apparently wants a bit more effort in the caption department now so here we are. Posts without much added to them can start getting flagged as unoriginal, which happened to a couple of mine recently and is why so many accounts are suddenly putting massive AI paragraphs underneath everything. I’m writing mine myself. Hopefully Zuck appreciates the effort.

Puffman and His Bionic Beak

Puffman is home and recovering after his fight with Quinn a Lilac Crowned Amazon. He’s still waking up from anesthesia, but Dr. G and her wonderful staff were able to treat his injuries, and he’s expected to be okay.

They glued the lacerated skin on his cere and inside his beak, placed a protective bandage, and gave him fluids and an anti-inflammatory injection. He’ll need soft foods while his upper beak heals. We’ll give his prescribed medications at home, and he has a follow-up with Dr. G next week to check his healing and re-glue his beak if needed.

A huge thank-you to @drgbirdvet @feathersandfuranimalhospital and the entire team for fitting Puffman in, taking such good care of him, and helping us through a very scary day. We’re so grateful. ❤️
