Multiple reports are now coming in involving what residents believe may be the same teenager attempting to steal mopeds in Makiki, Waikīkī, and other areas of Honolulu. In one incident on Liholiho Street, a resident says two teenagers were seen around 7:45 p.m. trying to take her moped after managing to unlock it. She yelled at them and they ran off before the moped was taken. HPD arrived around 8:05 p.m. The resident says she has seen the group in the area before, and additional people have since reported similar moped theft incidents involving someone matching the same general appearance. It has not been confirmed that the same individual is responsible for every incident. Please secure your mopeds and bikes, check nearby cameras, and report suspicious activity to police. If you recognize the person or have footage connected to similar incidents, send it to me. If you see a theft happening, call 911 first.

Pidgin summary: Get plenny reports about what might be da same young braddah stealing mopeds around Makiki, Waikīkī, an’ odda parts Honolulu. Everybody lock up your shit good, stay makaʻala, an’ report any kine suspicious activity.
