So where should you move in & around greater Cleveland if a pricey private school doesn’t matter, but top rated public schools are a must?

Here are a few neighborhoods and cities I’d take a serious look at:

* Highland School District in Medina County; not all of Medina is in HSD but it serves a variety of areas including Hinckley, Granger, Sharon, Montville, Copley, Medina, Brunswick Hills, and Wadsworth; in 2025 Highland scored a 5-star rating on the state’s school report card

* Bay Village in Cuyahoga County; a well-regarded public school, noted for its academic excellence, high graduation rates, and student success

* Rocky River in Cuyahoga County; RR serves around 2,600 students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, maintains a favorable student-teacher ratio, and has a history of state awards and national recognition

* Solon in Cuyahoga County; the district is celebrated for its commitment to student success, offering a wide range of academic programs, including Advanced Placement Courses, alongside a comprehensive arts, activities and athletics program

* Avon in Lorain County; Avon serves over 4,500 students across its five schools. It’s known for academic achievement, evidenced by high state report card scores, and it provides extensive extracurricular activities in sports, arts, and clubs

* Revere School District; Revere covers Bath, Richfield and a small part of Copley. It’s known for its strong academic reputation, with students excelling in academics, arts, and athletics. The district also emphasizes transparency in student performance
