Six Sites in One Western Division and More Than Twenty Crossings Since Last Month. YouTuber Kim Jin is reporting minefields laid by the North Korean military at six spots inside a single division’s sector on the western front, crossing the Military Demarcation Line by as much as 15 meters. Mines and tactical roads, in this account, are already south of the line. The aim, experts quoted here say, is to freeze the MDL into a fixed border. Across 248 kilometers there may be more. The South Korean military has counted more than twenty MDL crossings since last month. Warning broadcasts and warning shots were ignored. Seoul’s answer so far is that it is consulting the United Nations Command. The same 1st Corps division was earlier faulted for empty-rifle guard duty. A line that can be walked and mined is no longer only a map. It is a test of whether sovereignty still stops where the markers say it does. If the mines are already on this side of the line, what still counts as holding the border?
