#PAYLATER 2

2nd place at the Ironman World Championship. Another crazy race on this island! 🌺🌋

My best result in Kona so far, in an incredibly strong field and conditions I won’t forget anytime soon.

I’m proud of this result, but even more so of the performance and mental effort it took to get there.

After a challenging swim, feeling seasick for most of it, I had to reset my expectations and keep believing I could still turn things around. A 180 km solo ride wasn’t exactly the race I had imagined, but looking back, maybe it was exactly what I needed: focusing on myself, staying patient and racing my own race.

Coming off the bike without losing too much time to the front was a huge positive, especially after the gaps that opened up last year. Taking that momentum into the run was key and for the first time in my five Kona starts, I felt good, in control and able to really race.

Playing catch-up on the run was fun. 😉 And somewhere along the way, I think I finally found the peace on this island I had been hoping for.

Mahalo, Kona. You challenged me, pushed me and gave me a race to remember. 🌺

Huge thanks to everyone who supported me, on and off the course and especially to my team on the ground, who kept believing in me every step of the way. This one means a lot. 🫶🏻⚡️
