This scene will forever be comedy gold because Tony does not even pretend to be the bigger person. After Life Season 1, Episode 1 (2019) introduces Ricky Gervais’ Tony as a man whose grief has completely destroyed his interest in being polite. Then a kid decides to test him. Bad idea. When Robbie, played by Thomas Bastable, throws an insult at Tony, most adults would ignore it, walk away, or remember they are arguing with a child. Tony chooses none of those options. His comeback arrives instantly, with the kind of brutal confidence that makes you laugh partly because you cannot believe he actually said it. That is what makes the comedy in After Life so distinctive. Tony has convinced himself that not caring anymore is basically a superpower. Losing his wife Lisa has left him angry at the world, so every ordinary interaction becomes an opportunity to say exactly what everyone else would normally keep inside. Ricky Gervais created, wrote, directed, and starred in the Netflix series, and Episode 1 establishes that dark-comedy tone immediately. Tony can make you laugh at something completely inappropriate, then remind you seconds later that most of his anger is coming from heartbreak. That combination is why the scene works. You laugh at the comeback. Then you realize this man has completely lost his filter because he feels like he has already lost everything else. A must-see dark comedy moment and one of the earliest signs that After Life was never going to behave like a normal sitcom. Save this for your next After Life rewatch, or share it with the friend who also has absolutely no safe setting on their mouth.
Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum met Captain Smit Machchhar, the flydubai pilot who was injured during the serious FZ1073 incident involving a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv. Captain Machchhar was reportedly injured during an in-flight cockpit confrontation but played a crucial role in helping regain control of the situation. The aircraft was eventually diverted to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, where it landed safely. During his hospital visit, Sheikh Hamdan praised Captain Machchhar’s courage, sense of responsibility and concern for human life. The pilot is currently recovering in the UAE, while authorities continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. . . Follow - @tcx.official . .
