As a Black, Catholic and Creole Woman from rural Louisiana, this sacrament/ milestone not only was an evolution of my place in Catholicism but also one of the last times my grandmothers stood in the same space, healthy. ❤️‍🩹

I cherish this photo, I cherish this day, I cherish all Black women and hope all the support of each other and our ancestors help us become who we are ✨🫶🏾
