In 2017, Ms. Yasko, the owner of @sunnysideballetstudio asked me if I had any ideas for holding a 1 week camp over the summer. I said “why yes I do”! ☺️
When I was in High School, my dance teacher, Kerry Lea, had a summer class on Tuesday nights, where she taught us choreography from Music Videos. This was hugely inspiring for me, and a true highlight for me each week.
Kerry Lea had also allowed me to hold a dance camp in her space when I was in College. I could go on and on about the ways every one of my dance teachers has inspired me.
For example, @missdibeez is significantly the one who started me on my teaching path, and the one who taught me that there are performance careers in dance.
Needless to say, I am thankful for all of my dance teachers!
Here is a little recap of the Music Video Program (originally called Music Video Dance Camp) thus far.
Teamwork, mentorship, and belief in each other. ☺️
