This is my Daddy, Godfrey Wade.
If you’ve had the opportunity to meet him, I’m certain he’s made you smile — with his charm, humor, and captivating spirit. He’s one of God’s strongest soldiers, my mentor, and for many of you, your work and tennis father. But even if you don’t know him, I hope you can see him through me.

On September 13th, my dad was unexpectedly detained by ICE after a traffic stop. What began as a routine day turned into a nightmare for our family. After enduring inhumane conditions in Atlanta’s ICE facility, he was transferred to the overcrowded Stewart Detention Center, where he’s been denied even a bed for weeks. There’s a very real possibility he could be deported, even though we secured an attorney who’s fighting to halt it.

We’re currently waiting for his case to be reviewed by a judge — a process that could take weeks to months. We’ve created a GoFundMe to help during this difficult time.
