Sometimes, we get so caught up in our own problems that we forget to look beyond them. A bad day can feel like the worst day. A delayed plan can feel like the end of the world. A cold cup of coffee can ruin our morning. A missed opportunity can make us feel unlucky. And sometimes, we complain about things that, in the bigger picture, are only temporary inconveniences. But somewhere, someone is fighting a battle they never asked for. Someone is praying for the health we take for granted. Someone is wishing they could see the sunset one more time. Someone is desperately searching for clean water. Someone is sleeping without a home. Someone is wishing for a meal while we complain about what’s on our plate. Someone is waiting for tomorrow, while another person never got the chance to see it. This doesn’t mean your problems aren’t real. Your pain matters. Your struggles matter. Your emotions are valid. But perspective matters too. You don’t have to feel guilty for having problems. You simply have to remember that life can be difficult and beautiful at the same time. Be grateful for the ordinary things: the people who love you, the roof over your head, the food you can eat, the water you can drink, the eyes that let you see, the legs that let you walk, the chance to wake up tomorrow, and the people you can still call home. We often realize the value of something only after we lose it. So before you complain today, pause for a moment. Look around. Maybe your life isn’t perfect. Maybe everything isn’t going according to plan. Maybe you still have a long way to go. But there may also be countless things in your life that someone else is praying for. Don’t wait for everything to become perfect before you appreciate what you already have. Be grateful. Stay humble. Keep going. Because sometimes, happiness isn’t about getting more.
