Today I watched a podcast @offscrippt and im glad I stuck till the end because it made me rethink why I’m doing what I’m doing.

It reminded me why I’m playing sports again.

I’m not playing sports to go pro like everyone thinks I am….

I used to play for a contract and that was all that mattered.

Every game, every rep, every practice… was about getting noticed.
But then when I didn’t, I was miserable.

Ungrateful for what the sport
was actually giving me……

the lessons, the setbacks, the discipline to show up when I didn’t feel like it.

But then I realised… that’s what the sport was trying to teach me all along.

Every loss, every injury, every ounce of competition
it wasn’t punishment, it was shaping me.

Now when I walk into rooms, people compliment my mindset, not my accolades or what I had done, they don’t care.

That came from sports — from learning how to fail, compete, and rise again.

But then when I stopped playing because I was bitter, I lost that part of myself.

That hunger.
That identity.
Then when I finally came back — it wasn’t for a contract… it was for growth as a person.

Because every day I see change — not just in how I perform,
but in who I’m becoming.

In the podcast @sonnybillwilliams and @quadecooper talk about his desire to commentate. He finds it draining because of all the rugby talk or he finds himself out of place when those things come up. What he really loves about rugby is the story, the way the guys individually and the team got there. Trials, tribulations etc

The real character shaping that happens through rugby. It’s the vehicle to which can help you grow as a person. I felt that segment so much because that’s why I play again.

To test myself, to feel pressure, to overcome injury and failed attempts.

It’s just about building and growing to my best potential.

And that’s why these 90 days of rebuilding myself has been the best consistent challenge I’ve ever done.

I’m about to show everyone that it doesn’t matter how far you think you’ve slipped, you can get back.
