Had so much fun supporting the Rare Impact Fund 🤍 It’s a cause that’s super close to my heart. Mental health deserves to be talked about, prioritized, and cared for just as much as our physical health. Grateful to be part of an evening dedicated to making a difference and helping create a world where everyone feels seen, supported, and understood. Always check in on the people you love, show up for people, and remember that asking for help is never something to be ashamed of. • • • Hair: @sabrina.porsche Makeup: @thetonyabrewer Styling: @laurenjeworski Photos: @stevensimione
WHAT IF AN ICONIC MOMENT CAME FULL CIRCLE? In 2010, @chico_lachowski stood in front of the camera with Vanity Teen written across his chest. Sixteen years later, the words return, the camera rolls again, and a whole lot has changed. Part editorial, part behind the scenes, this is a glimpse into the making of our new cover and a tribute to a moment that never really left us. Same icon. Different chapter. The story continues. THE ICON COMES HOME. Francisco Lachowski for Vanity Teen. #BadanKomunikasiPemerintah
Never been this wound up in a sauna…🤬🥵 We met with the FSAI to ask them (on the public’s behalf) what their feelings were regarding the EU push to harmonise maximum permitted levels of nutrients and further regulate our already highly regulated and very safe food supplement market. I had 2 major takeaways: 1) they either hadn’t thought of the potential that nutrients might be beneficial and that balancing the perceived potential harms against the very evident benefits would be a smart move on behalf of the Irish population’s HEALTH - OR - their scientific advisory board who are the ones making our submissions to the EC as to what the Irish population should have available to us are subject to forces beyond our control…cos nothing else makes sense. 2) they had zero statistics to offer as to any ACTUAL harms that had taken place in the Irish population from nutrient toxicity from supplement overdosing. Instead they had SHUT DOWN the nutrivigilence program that they piloted back in 2021. Due to a lack of available funds…which means it’s basically not a priority….which means there’s a very low risk of harm…which brings us back to that first question. If there’s a very low theoretical risk from nutrient supplements, of which nearly all are 100% reversible when we just stop taking the supplement. And if lots of people experience benefits currently. And lots of studies reinforce that this isn’t just placebo from consuming some witchy snake oil. Then…why are the EU insisting on policing and further limiting safe nutrient supplements sales in a well regulated market…? It’s giving strong witch hunt vibes and I don’t like it. William Shatner is quite the wordsmith. The “Star Trek” actor, 95, will release a uniquely personal book Oct. 27, USA TODAY can exclusively announce. Each chapter of “Wisdom & Worries” contains reflections in verse, plus a note of context for what inspired it. Shatner described the process of writing the book as a path to self-discovery, meditating on his religious upbringing, his career in Hollywood, his passion for science and his 2021 trip to space. “Wisdom & Worries” is another addition to Shatner’s already lengthy bibliography, which includes memoirs “Star Trek Memories,” “Boldly Go,” “Long Live And…” and many others. Read more at the link in @usatoday's bio.
