Definition of a real friend: helping you with your problems even after you just said you need new friends.

The Big Bang Theory understood friendship long before the group would ever admit how much they actually cared about each other.

In Season 1, Episode 8, “The Grasshopper Experiment,” Raj Koothrappali is completely overwhelmed after his parents try to arrange a date with Lalita Gupta. Raj, played by Kunal Nayyar, cannot even bring himself to call her, so Leonard tries to reason with him while Howard simply takes the phone and does it for him.

Of course, Howard Wolowitz, played by Simon Helberg, manages to make the situation even more chaotic in classic Howard fashion.

That is what makes their friendship so entertaining. Leonard, Sheldon, Howard, and Raj spend half their time insulting each other, interfering in each other’s lives, and making terrible situations worse, but when one of them actually needs help, the others are always somehow still there.

Released in 2007, this early The Big Bang Theory episode already showed the chemistry that would eventually make this group one of television’s most recognizable friendships.

Real friends might annoy you constantly, but they are also the ones who stay when everything gets awkward.

Save this relatable moment or send it to the friend who would cause the problem and still somehow help you fix it.

For women, the midlife dip in life satisfaction can overlap with perimenopause, when kids, work, your own health and ageing parents are already asking more of you.

Then your body starts asking for attention, too.

It’s easy to put yourself last when everyone else needs something. The friend you keep meaning to see. The strength training you keep postponing. The hobby that’s entirely yours. The honest conversation about how you’re really doing.

But your needs deserve space in this chapter.
• Make regular plans with a friend
• Make time for strength training
• Hold on to something you do just for yourself
• Tell someone when it feels heavy

And if menopause symptoms are making life harder, you deserve care and support. You don’t have to push through in silence.

Send this to a woman who needs that reminder.

Launch day wasn’t champagne and a big glossy moment. It was no sleep, a few tears, refreshing the orders every thirty seconds, a walk to clear the head and a homemade spice bag to finish it off.

And then Jackie sold out in 48 hours.

I still can’t quite believe it. Every single order, every message and every share has meant more to me than I can put into words. This little business is built on so much more than clothes and you’ve made this weekend one I’ll never forget.

From a very tired, very grateful house, thank you. 🤍

Jackie is back on pre-order now, shipping on or before 16 November.
