Nobody remembers the person who almost finished. 🏁🔥 Most people don’t fail at the start. They fail near the end. They get close enough to see the goal, start feeling like they’ve already made it and ease off right when it matters most. The project gets left at the final stretch. The weight loss stops a few months short. The savings goal gets raided right before it’s reached. The degree, the business, the comeback, all abandoned just before they were finished. The finish line is there for a reason. Until you’ve crossed it, nothing is guaranteed and nothing is yours. The people who win aren’t always the fastest. They’re the ones who keep running hardest at the exact moment everyone else starts slowing down. The finish line doesn’t care how close you got. It only rewards the ones who crossed it. Ask five Indians why we celebrate Diwali… and you might get seven answers. 🪔 Ram's homecoming to Ayodhya, Krishna and Narakasura, Lakshmi rising from the ocean of milk, King Bali's yearly visit, Kali's moonless night, Mahavira's nirvana, and Guru Hargobind's freedom with 52 kings: one night of lamps, many stories. Which one did your family tell you? Tell us in the comments! 👇 Happy Diwali from Ink Frames! ✨ #Diwali #deepavali #indianmythology #reels #animations #diwalistory #happydiwali
En zo sluiten we onze cross-carrière voorlopig even af! IK VOEL ME ZO DOM! Dus voorjaar 2028 it is. 🖤🔮 THE LAST WITCH | C.J. COOKE 🔮🖤 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 STARS Some stories deserve to be told. Some women deserve to be remembered. What better way to spend Halloween than completely immersed in a story of witch trials, persecution and the women caught in the shadows of history? Set in Innsbruck in 1485, The Last Witch is a fictional retelling inspired by the real-life story of Helena Scheuberin, and what an extraordinary read it is. I’ve always been fascinated by the history of witch trials, but there is something particularly powerful about reading a story that gives a voice to a woman who actually lived through such a terrifying period. C.J. Cooke’s writing is absolutely brilliant. Atmospheric, compelling and beautifully crafted, this was one of those books I simply didn’t want to put down. I was completely absorbed from beginning to end. But what struck me most wasn’t simply the injustice of what happened in 1485. It was how uncomfortably familiar some of those attitudes towards women still feel today. Women being dismissed, disbelieved, silenced and punished for daring to challenge expectations. More than 500 years may separate us from Helena Scheuberin, yet misogyny hasn’t disappeared. That realisation left me angry, and perhaps that’s exactly why stories like this matter so much. We need to remember these women, their courage and the injustices they faced. Their stories should never be forgotten. I love books that entertain me, but I especially love books that make me think, question and feel something long after I’ve turned the final page. This wasn’t just a brilliant piece of historical fiction. It was an important, thought-provoking and utterly captivating read. Five very well-deserved stars. 🖤 Have you read The Last Witch? Are you as fascinated by the history of witch trials as I am? #TheLastWitch #CJCooke #HistoricalFiction #WitchTrials #BookstagramUK
