It is by far the most time consuming way to make tapes, but it is the method that allows me to put the highest level of care and quality control into each one. I am a big believer in the joy of inconvenience, which is the same reason that I distribute music through physical means (with digital files only being accessible through the purchase of a tape). Every release we do is limited so once the tapes are gone, they’re gone. In a world where streaming has made all music infinitely accessible, I value the importance of things being finite, and the music you listen to being the result of your intentional choices rather than the result of what an algorithm thinks you might like.Shoutout to Michael and Jake for seeing the vision and for trusting me with their music.Lastly, I wanted to extend my gratitude to the lovely folks at the @iprc_pdx. out of S*P*A*C*E* 🗓️ 7/11(SOLIDARITY * PROTECTION * ACCESS CREATIVITY * EMPATHY)A showcase / fundraising effort born out of necessity. From the constant defunding of music, arts and education. To labels (major + indie) not doing right by their artists. As well as 🧊 making travel / touring impossible for musicians — and at the very least infuriating. We've decided to come together and fight back with love (and music)!All the artists on the bill contributed instrumental tracks for a compilation that will be dubbed on cassette that will be available for purchase exclusively the day of show. The proceeds from the event/music will go towards our soul brother @frankiejaxnomad to continue the fight towards his justice and bring more awareness to the atrocities being done by 🧊!We've all worked so hard over the past few months to bring this idea to life but didn't leave much time to get the word out so please share the flyer!!
